MEN'S
HIKING TRIP

We will be doing an overnight backpacking trip into Big Basin Redwoods State Park. It's an effort to carve out time for the men to be together, hear from God and put our manliness to the test. Simply put... if you're a man, you'll go.

The first test of your manhood is to read through all this info completely and thoroughly. Go.

> FUN FACTS 

• Twenty-two [22] total miles [11 in and 11 out] beginning at Castle Rock and camping at Waterman Gap. 
• Only 18 spots available.
• $100 registration fee INCLUDES: backpack, sleeping bag, tent, stove+fuel, cookware, food, dinnerware, campsite rental. FYI: Food is barebones. 
• Stuff you'll NEED to BRING on your own: good hiking shoes, clothes for hot and cold weather, water bottle/hydration pack, snacks [powerbars, etc.] flashlight, toiletries, toilet paper, your own medication, hand sanitizer, survival instincts.
• Stuff you'll NEED to LEAVE at home: whining, your mom's chocolate chip cookies, iPods, fear.
• Optional stuff to bring: foam pad, hiking poles, camera, sunglasses, sun block, water purifier, ear plugs, towel, insect repellant, money.
• If you bring a friend who is not a Haven regular... you get $10 off registration fees on both you and your buddy.
• Only a few will have phones - in case of emergency you can have family call Dave or Alan's cel phone. Cel phones will generally not be allowed on the trip. Reception is sketchy anyways.

NO... it's not free. We're just using the site to do signups. Pay $100 thru the following means. If you're inviting a friend, pay $90 and have your friend pay $90.

Payment needs to be sent out IMMEDIATELY after registration. If you have your own stuff and don't need to rent everything... the reg fee is the same. We'll take the money saved and share it with others who can't quite afford the total reg amount. So you'll be helping out a brutha if you can bring some of your own stuff. 

If you can't afford the $100 - no worries, just email/call us and share with us your situation [info@ihaven.org or 408.634.2836]. Pay as much as you can and God will find someone who will generously pay the rest. He always does.

SEPTEMBER 24 [FRIDAY]: EVERYONE will meet at 8pm on the Friday night before at Dave King's house to pack our backpacks and get oriented for the next morning's hike. Bring your own dinner and we'll sleep over at Dave's house and leave together for our hike the next morning. Call Dave if you'll be late [408.219.7915].
